FCPX 10.2.3 will not create library backup

When creating a new library yesterday, FCPX did not create a backup of the library in the specified location. Other existing libraries are backed up properly. Even after creating duplicate projects and closing and re-opening the new library, still no library backup. Any suggestions? Thanks, marc

What you've done already by duplicating your project is the first thing I would have suggested, (Using the Duplicate as Snapshot command is a manual way of backing up and one that some editors routinely use to version their projects.)

But that doesn't answer the question of why your library is not backing up automatically as it should. (I assume you've already verified the backups location in the Inspector Library Properties > Storage Locations.) First, delete preferences when you launch FCP. Us e the new empty library as a test library by importing a single clip and editing it to the project timeline. Work on something else for 20 minutes, quit and check your Backups folder. If a backup was created, I suggest moving the working event/project to the new library. Open the working project, make a trivial edit and (after another 20 minutes) quit and see whether things are back to normal.

Good luck.
